The School of Art and Design's 2009 Master of Fine Arts Exhibition at the Krannert Art Museum is the culmination of up to three years of concentrated research and practice. More significantly, this exhibition is the extension of an educational space—a public platform upon which objects and images become positioned so as to propose arguments, ask questions and sustain dialogue. The crafting of these arguments and the mastery over materials reveals the commitment that these artists and designers have made to their chosen fields of study. The MFA Exhibition is a temporary educational space that is neither cumulative nor final; rather, it is a space of transition—from the classroom/studio to the world. It is the beginning.
