Artist/Designer Statement
In personal design research area, Eric has specific interests in “Modular design” and “Green design” theories, which he believes could be efficient and demanding solutions for the current economy and energy crisis. As the world is getting more and more complex and endlessly consuming natural sources for the expending of human’s desire, These two design strategies turned people’s views form simply “adding” new stuff into making new combination and rethinking the way how people use it. Based on this, Eric accomplished his graduate thesis: Electric Urban Transporter Deign. Besides academic achievements, Eric had an summer internship in Peak Product Design in Springfield, IL. He mainly participated in several fitness and kitchenware design projects, and helped the company finding prototyping and manufacture resources overseas.
